The pipe cutting machine feed has been equipped with a highly dynamic linear motor axis. This keeps cycle times to a minimum. The axis was equipped with sheet metal covers to protect against metal chips. The permanent magnets have also been equipped with a full-length stainless steel band with a lateral seal. However, due to the way the machine operates, the air gap between the linear motor and the magnetic belt is minimal. The metal chips that accumulate on the permanent magnet are transported to the end of the axis by a plastic scraper located on the motor, which scrapes the chips off the magnetic strip.
